Who are we looking for?
We aren’t seeking a regular community development worker, we want someone who is truly passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and their families. With a sound understanding of the various problems faced by children between 0-12 and their families, you will be able to tackle these issues directly. Utilising your exceptional collaborative skills you will actively partner with the Playford families and other community stakeholders.
What do you need to bring?
- Qualifications in Social Sciences or Community service, or relevant experience – Essential
- Sound knowledge of the common and unique problems faced by children and their families
- Previous experience in the development and coordination of capacity building community activities
- Practice in putting community development and empowerment principles into action
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across cultural and business backgrounds
What can you expect to be doing?
- Improving the outcomes for children by developing and implementing innovative activities and programs
- Coordinating training programs that teach parents/caregivers about childhood development and parenting
- Developing feedback mechanism that allow you to monitor and address the needs of children and their families
- Partnering and collaborating with other community service providers to enable a holistic approach to community development
- Assisting in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Communities for Children initiative
